SUICIDE AND SUICIDAL BEHAVIOURS

Suicide is an imminent problem all over the world today. Not only can it be proved as a needless recourse, it is also a wasteful one borne out of a hopeless state and myopic vision in the victim. The victim sees no prospect beyond the state he's found himself in and is unaware that there exist millions of other beings in the world in a worse state.

China leads the pack in the suicide problem as the country bags the highest rate in the world with one person taking his/her life every 2 minutes. (Source: 99 little-known facts about suicide)

Also, when we see the pack of notable people in the world that have lost their lives to suicide we also appreciate that it is wasteful; Sigmund Freud, Cleopatra, Mark Antony, Brutus, Judas Iscariot, Hannibal, Nero, Virginia Wolf, Adolf Hitler, Ernest Hemmingway, Sylvia Plath, Vincent van Gogh, Jack London, Dylan Thomas, Judy Garland, Rudolph Hess, Pontius Pilate, Socrates, and possibly Tchaikovsky, Elvis Presley, and Marilyn Monroe.

A week ago, a valuable being in the person of a male doctor in Nigeria committed suicide. The event attracted a lot of popularity in the country as it is an unusual occurrence. Events surrounding the suicide and the cause are unclear. But we see here a needless loss of life and tragedy perhaps due to frustration or hopelessness. Is this needed? Is it necessary?
