WHY SHOULD I WRITE? 20 REASONS

Perhaps you get bored when you see book pages and wonder what the purpose of writing is.
On the other hand you believe people should have good reasons for writing and you want to explore the benefits.
Writers have important roles to play in the society. Why else do we go to school to learn to read and write?
This is what this article is about; to show you why you should write and expose benefits of writing that you probably never have thought of before.

So, WHY SHOULD YOU WRITE?

1. BECAUSE YOUR OPINION MATTERS
That sounds straightforward right? Well not really. There is no human that does not have an opinion but in most cases you express it in arguments or you bottle it up. Some movements that changed the world and stood the test of time were birthed from the minds of a few people who decided to write down what they believe in.

2. BECAUSE YOU'LL HAVE A PLACE IN HISTORY
Writings form the building blocks of the edifice of future knowledge and Authors are the masons.
There is no knowledge you have today that has not been added to by the writings of people. Not authors necessarily but someone who decided to take the pains of documentation; take the pains of pouring out his heart; take the pains of emptying his potential. Don't you care about having a place in history? Well lets say you don't but others do and their lives depend on it.

3. BECAUSE YOU CAN RELEASE YOUR POTENTIAL
You contribute to the world what no other person may have inside. Writing is an avenue to give the little and the much you have to people who need it. It is also an avenue for discovering your potential. At times you need to pour out your heart on paper so you know what you really want and what you can really do.

4. BECAUSE YOU WANT TO
You've always wanted to so why don't you go ahead.

5. BECAUSE YOU ARE BORED
At times writing is a good way to crack open and relieve boredom. Ask your friends journal a lot.

6. BECAUSE YOU NEED EMOTIONAL THERAPY
Yes! Writing is a perfect avenue to empty anger, frustration, depression. Instead of getting angry at that person why not get angry with your paper. You'll probably make a bestseller out of it.

7. BECAUSE YOU LIKE THE 'FAME'
Real writers don't write for fame or monetary benefits but it doesn't hurt to be happy when someone commends your writing or shares with others or it goes viral. It brings fulfillment when you are appreciated for hardwork.

8. BECAUSE YOU TALK TOO MUCH
Isn't it better to sit down and write than spend energy on talking. If you think you talk too much and want to get rid of it, writing is a perfect and beneficial substitute.

9. BECAUSE YOU'LL GAIN RESPECT
An author is a noble.

10. BECAUSE PEOPLE WRITE EVERYDAY
Why should you be the odd one out? Or why should you see it as an oddity?

11. BECAUSE YOUR IDEA COULD SELL
You can beat an untrodden path because of your unique writing style or your unique writing idea.

12. BECAUSE YOU HAVE A UNIQUE AUDIENCE
No two writers are the same. No two authors have the exact same audience. You are unique and there is a unique audience you can impact with your writing.

13. BECAUSE YOU ARE UNIQUE YOURSELF
You aren't meant to live in a world created by another person. The niche you carve for yourself  sometimes is the best for you to live in. Why don't you create your unique empire.

14. BECAUSE YOU ARE MARKETABLE
People's first good impression about you can be from your writing. They may never get to see your flaws. The hidden beauty inside of you can be revealed.

15. BECAUSE YOU'LL HAVE A FAMILY
Let your writing inspire your family. Not just your biological family but your friends, fans and audience as well. My dad was my first inspiration to write.

16. BECAUSE YOU CAN 'WRITE' WRONGS
If you refuse to write the write thing, people will continue writing the wrong things.

17. SO YOUR VOICE CAN BE HEARD
Just one voice, just your voice can change the world.

18. BECAUSE WRITING SLOWS BRAIN AGEING
Research has found that writers/authors don't have degenerative brain diseases as frequently and as early as the general population. Yes, that's write. Writing saves you from Alzheimers and the other host of neurodegenerative diseases.

19. BECAUSE YOU CAN PLAN
You have a lot of things to do; that's frustrating. You are unable to complete your tasks and they keep piling up; that's a bummer. Writing down your plan is an important step towards achieving your goals.

20. BECAUSE YOU CAN EARN MONEY
Who waited for this one? Or who didn't expect this? Writers aren't just rich in their skulls they are also rich in the bank. Authors don't just have a lot in their hearts they also have a lot more in their pockets. Examples of financially successful writers abound and I'll expose on some of them later. I'll also expose on more reasons why you should write and I'll still include something on money. Writers need to know they can earn from their writings. Also know I can write for you. Interesting how this is the bulkiest of the 20 reasons listed so far.
